The wave-pattern Portuguese mosaic pavement alone is worth the trip. The contrast between the colonial Portuguese architecture and the Chinese character of Macau creates something uniquely beautiful you cannot find anywhere else in the world.
April 2026UNESCO World Heritage designation is completely deserved. The square at night, with the yellow colonial buildings lit up and the mosaic pavement gleaming, is one of the most photogenic spots in Asia. Go after 8 PM for the best light.
March 2026Beautiful square that captures Macau's soul. During Chinese New Year it's absolutely electric with decorations and crowds. For photography, go early morning before the tour groups arrive.
